MEMO
work in progress
"Time, in its irresistible and incessant flow, carries away all things created and submerges them in the depths of oblivion."
Memo is a relic for the future, a dedication to the archaeologists who will study us, a journey through the archive of past and present history in an attempt to explore, through imagination, possible scenarios, doubts, perplexities, and beauties of our present while asking ourselves, "What do we wish to leave behind for the humanity of the future?" Perhaps this reflection could help us live in today's world differently. Fascinated by the relationship that ancient civilizations had with the future—first and foremost the Etruscans, inhabitants of the lands where we live today—their devotion to the "afterlife," to what comes next, their actions in the present oriented toward or related to the time to come, we have embarked on research about our own relationship with the future and asked ourselves: "What will remain of us? What will archaeologists find in a thousand years?" And if one day our present itself became "Etruscan" in the eyes of those who come after us, what artifacts would they find, and what lessons could they learn from the remnants of our society?
